Since I began studying at Lion Choi’s I have enjoyed many of the physical and personal benefits from the practice of martial arts. I have developed a stronger sense of confidence and assertiveness that has helped me professionally and personally. As a high school foreign language teacher working in a troubled school district I encounter many student discipline problems and other controversies that inhibit my ability to teach a lesson. Lion Choi’s has taught me how to handle these conflicts with more authority and self-control. I have found myself teaching with more interactive techniques that keep the students attentive and minimize the behavioral troubles. Even in various social settings I present myself with more poise and self-assurance when meeting new people or interacting with old acquaintances. I definitely recommend this style of martial arts for anyone looking for a substantial change in their life.

The patience and knowledge of the instructors at LCMA as well as their attentiveness to proper technique are what I feel are the greatest attributes. To me these qualities place LCMA head-and-shoulders above many other taekwondo schools.

I was interested in tae kwon do when I was about 15 years old. I truly believe that joining Lion Choi’s Tae Kwon Do is one of the smartest things I have decided to do. By doing tae kwon do at Lion Choi’s, I have learned to manage my time greatly. I am in a program called International Bach. Program, where it requires an extreme time management due to rigorous demands. Myself confidence has boosted tremendously because I know that the fact I can protect myself and my loved ones if I had to. Also, by doing tae kwon do, I have gained more strength and endurance that helps me participates in other sports such as track, golf, and more. Therefore, I owe all my appreciation to the instructors of Lion Choi’s, Master Choi, and the great higher ranks such as Mr. Nick, Ms. Judy, Mr. Joe and many others.

I was introduced to Lion Choi’s Tae Kwon Do from my girlfriend. She told me that by doing tae kwon do, I would gain more strength and endurance. The reason I joined Lion Choi’s is because of the instructors, people, and the atmosphere were phenomenal. Everybody gave their best and are always willing to learn something new. From Lion Choi’s I learned to like the challenges that I have to face in my life. I learned that if I try my hardest I will always be able to accomplish it. You can’t learn these things from anywhere else but from this great doh jang (school). I truly believe that becoming a part of the Lion Choi’s family was a righteous thing to do.

My children Meki and Meridian joined Lion Choi’s Tae kwon Do in October 2004. They were welcomed by Grand Master Choi, Master Choi, and the black belt instructors and they bonded immediately with the other students. They jumped full force into their lessons and practiced at home without prompting. I enjoyed watching my children and the other students progress. I even learned a little while I watched. I learned enough while watching to “practice” with and encourage Meki and Meridian. At testing time I met some of the adult students and soon desired to join a class. My first class was in May 2005. Having been an observer seven months, I easily picked up on the basic routines and moves and progressed quickly into learning the forms and kick combinations. I had enjoyed a variety of sports from childhood but tae kwon do was different. The combination of a physical exercise with self defense and the beauty of the art form challenged me. Working hard and challenging yourself in tae kwon do is not an option. The student must be motivated to work hard at each level. I was motivated! I have learned self defense, shed 7 pounds and have regular exercise 2-3 days per week. The friendships I have with my classmates helps keep me motivated. I have grown more flexible, agile and confident with each promotion and I am now a brown belt. Becoming a black belt is my goal and I am motivated by each class to achieve that goal.

My son Nicholas started at Lion Choi’s a little over a year ago in that time he has gained so much focus, drive, and discipline. Master Steve Choi is a great instructor who truly cares about each student and their progression. I would recommend Lion Choi’s Martial Arts to anyone anytime. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have.

My husband and I checked out several other martial arts schools before deciding on Lion Choi’s. We are very happy with not only the physical progress our son has made, but also his mental growth has been noticeable. Lion Choi’s training has helped him in school to focus better as well as boosted his confidence in everyday life. Thanks to Master Steve, for being an all around excellent teacher of teamwork, and for teaching his students to do their very best.
