About Our School

At Lion Choi's, we are dedicated to teaching our students the ways of Korean Martial Arts. For over thirty years, we have taken great pride and confidence in our instruction. Our simple yet life-changing programs give every individual the possibility to obtain a Black Belt at their own pace. Each program offered at Lion Choi's teaches self-development as well as self-defense. We believe the true purpose of Martial Arts is becoming the best you can be physically, spiritually, and mentally. Our pledge to you is to make every student's experience enjoyable, exciting, and educational. Each student gets individual attention and advice specific to their strengths and weaknesses to optimize their time at Lion Choi's.

Lion Choi's honors the traditions of Korean art and culture, especially Taekwondo, and strives to give back to the community. We constantly seek to go above and beyond our standards to enrich our students' lives both in and out of the dojang. We appreciate all of our students, both new and old. Lion Choi's welcomes you.

In 1978, Lion Choi's Martial Arts first opened its doors in Belair, Maryland. Then upon relocating to Anne Arundel County Glen Burnie, MD which the school currently resides. All of our Black Belt instructors are certified with World Taekwondo Federation Kukkiwon (Rep. of Korea Taekwondo Training Headquarters) authorization, under the guidance of 9th degree Black Belt Grand Master Bok Sung Choi and his son, Master Instructor Steve Choi, presently a 5th degree Black Belt. Over the years, Lion Choi's Martial Arts has produced over hundreds of thousand of quality Black Belts.

Lion Choi's Martial Arts is one of the longest running schools in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The school is a member of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF), USA Taekwondo (USA-TKD) and the Maryland Taekwondo Association. Black Belt members receive official Kukkiwon Certification. This allows the school to send competitors to State, National, World Championships, and even the Olympic games. Over the years, many of Lion Choi's students have been Grand Champion winners and are currently competing in the State and National circuit level. Lion Choi's Martial Arts was named "Best Taekwondo School" at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Korea Consul General Taekwondo Championship, which over 30 schools participated in. For winning its third consecutive championship, the school got to permanently keep the "Victory Flag".
